New Information about Wind Data

Dear pilots,

since we received some feedback that the pilots rely on current wind data from the event organizer, we were able to find a solution that hopefully works for everyone.

Our weather experts will conduct classic Piball Readings. We're still fine-tuning this, but the plan is to have a Piball at 3:00 a.m., one at 5:30 a.m. (following the morning briefing, which will then be distributed via WhatsApp), and one after the evening briefing at approximately 5:30 p.m. (also distributed via WhatsApp). It doesn't make sense to do this before the evening briefing, as this data is usually relatively unusable due to the thermals.

We hope this is a satisfactory solution.

Of course, after the first competition flight on Sunday evening, there is refuelling available. Sorry for that mistake.
If anyone ABSOLUTELY needs gas between training flights 2 and 3, please contact us at office@europeans2025.at. We'll be sure to find a solution on Sunday morning BEFORE the training flight. We just want to avoid crews standing around filling up on gas on Saturday evening while the opening ceremony is taking place at the Volksfestplatz.

Important Information about Wind Data during the Event

Important information regarding wind data during the European Championships

In recent years, local and actual wind data has often been provided during the briefing (from windsonds and drone launches).

There will be NO actual windsonds or drone data available at this European Championship!

We will, of course, have an up-to-date weather briefing from two professionals from Austrocontrol during the briefings, and they will also have relatively recent data from a radiosonde launch nearby. However, NO actual wind data will be published.

Please keep this in mind when planning your competition. If you need current windsond measurements for your flight planning, you will need to organize them yourself.

News and Important Informations

Dear pilots,

since I was competing at the German-British Championships last week, I've fallen a bit behind with my preparations for the European Championships.

I'll try to catch up in the coming days, but if you have any questions or concerns, please write to us at office@europeans2025.at , and we'll try to answer them as quickly as possible.

I'll also be setting up various WhatsApp groups soon, which will make communication a bit easier.

Attached is a summary of the most important information from the organizers, which was emailed to the pilots two weeks ago. This information might also be of interest to the crews ;-)

So please check the ENB regularly over the next few days, more information will follow.
