Common Launch Areas

Attached is a waypoint file for possible Common Launch Areas (CLA) that may be used during the Event.

These are not "free for all" areas; you should still attempt to obtain landowner permission if you want to use them as Individual Launch Areas or before entering the property for retrieve.

The ABF has requested that the organisers of the 2019 ANBC make all competitors and crews aware of the recently released Safety Alert regarding inflation fan safety.

Competition Officials we be monitoring for compliance with best practice fan operation and management.

Available here is a version of the competition map with powerlines overlaid. This map version is provided in the interests of safety, however it cannot be guaranteed as 100% complete. There may be powerlines that do not appear on this map.

Drug and Alcohol Policy

For the 2019 Australian National Ballooning Championships, World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) rules concerning anti-doping, including alcohol abuse, will be applied. Please see the attached document.

Also, please note that anyone who is performing (or is available to perform) a 'safety sensitive aviation activity' (as defined in the Civil Aviation Regulations) can be tested by CASA.
