Dear Mr. Miller,

I would like to file a formal complaint regarding the scoring of task 4, currently shown as Official on Watch Me Fly.

I was the first balloon to the provided coordinate and did not find a target or any indication of where it would be set, or any scoring team on site.

With no indication available, I made an electronic mark based on my understanding of the published rules.

In the event rule book, rule 12.1.2 states that electronic marks should be used in this situation. I find this rule extremely clear and unambiguous.

Note: this rule is numbered 12.5 under the HACD website 2026 rule book, but contains the same wording.

Furthermore, my result correctly calls out this rule in the comment section. I appreciate that it is being used for my case, but I believe all pilots should be scored using the same interpretation of the rules.

As I understand, subsequent pilots threw markers. Some threw at their best estimate of the coordinate location, while others later in the flight  apparently were given a physical indicator by staff, which may have been further north of the coordinate by some amount.

I believe that the only fair and reasonable conclusion is based explicitly on the aforementioned rule, and should be applied here to ALL pilot, regardless of when or where they may have thrown a marker.

I request that Task 4 be rescored to Balloon Live logger mark 4 or landing location for all pilots per this rule.
