Lilly Watkins

Biography

Lilly is a commercial hot air balloon pilot from St. George, Utah. Her passion for ballooning began when she moved to St. George and took her first flight with her family. She and her mom, Heather Watkins, quickly fell in love with the sport and acquired their first balloon, Confetti Pebbles. At just 15 years old, Lilly got her student pilot license—one week after her mom. For her 16th birthday, she received one of her favorite balloons, Renegade, and began training for her private pilot certificate.

Throughout high school, Lilly balanced a full schedule—participating in drill team, taking numerous college credits, and graduating at just 16 years old with her General Education certificate. She then attended Utah Tech University, where she earned her associate degree and completed her bachelor’s degree in marketing.

Alongside her education, Lilly pursued her passion for aviation, training with some of the top pilots in the industry. At 18, she earned her commercial pilot certificate and has been flying ever since, sharing the beauty of ballooning with others. In 2025 at 20 years old, she purchased her own hot air balloon and is excited to see where it takes her next.

When she’s not in the sky, Lilly loves spending time with friends and family and is always on some sort of new adventure. No matter where life takes her, one thing is certain: she was meant for the skies.
