    We are delighted to invite you to the 2026 Toscana Hot Air Balloon Open Championship, an international competition held in the heart of Tuscany, immersed in the unique scenery of the Valdichiana and the Tuscan hills.

    The 2025 edition concluded with 8 out of 8 flights and 32 tasks, a resounding success in every sense of the word. We look forward to welcoming you in large numbers to create a wonderful competition.

     

    Tuscany needs no introduction: from exquisite cuisine to breathtaking views, we look forward to welcoming you for an unforgettable week of sport, friendship, and flight.

     

    For pilots who wish to admire Tuscany from above outside of the competition, additional flights in picturesque areas such as Siena and Chianti can be arranged upon request. Please contact the organizers at least three days in advance.

     

    Event Overview

    Competition venue: Aviosuperficie Serristori, Castiglion Fiorentino (AR), Tuscany, Italy

    Official dates: 30 September 2026 – 4 October 2026

    The competition will open on Wednesday, 29 September, with registration and general briefing.

    The first competition flight is planned for Thursday, 30 September, in the morning.

    The event will conclude on Monday, 3 October, with the final competition period and prize-giving ceremony.

    If the required number of flights and tasks cannot be completed within the main schedule, any missing flights/tasks will be attempted on Sunday morning, 4 October.

    The entry fee is symbolic: €300.

    Prize Fund

    •            1st place: €1,000

    •            2nd place: €500

    •            3rd place: €250

     

    Registration:

    • Open to international pilots with a valid FAI sporting license and a minimum of 50 flight hours
    • Limited to 30 teams
    • Mandatory use of BalloonLiveSensor and BalloonLive App
    • Registration via WatchMeFly
    • Deadline: September 15, 2026
    • Registration will be confirmed upon receipt of the entry fee

    Gas Information

    Propane will be provided at a discounted price and can be paid at the end of refuelling.

    Refuelling before the first competition flight will be available in the morning during check-in hours.

    The last refuelling will take place before the final competition flight.

    Outside the competition schedule, both before and after the event, pilots will be able  to refuel LPG by contacting the organization.
