The Supagas Canowindra International Balloon Challenge is Australia’s largest competition ballooning event. The event runs every year and is one of the premier competition ballooning events in the country. It is also the only ballooning event in the Southern Hemisphere to offer prize money for the top 3 places.
Canowindra is the spiritual home of ballooning with the first modern flights happening in the area in the late 1960’s. The flying area approx. 30km radius around the town and is made up of river valleys and small undulating hills. The flying area is known for stable weather conditions friendly farmers and no airspace restrictions. It is a perfect location for hot air ballooning.The competition flights will be in the mornings with afternoon flights being a fun competition and an opportunity to fly your team members and enjoy the hospitality of the region.

The 2019 event will be held over 9 days during the NSW school holidays, 19th to 28th April 2019.
