Electronic Noticeboard
Flight 06/10AM Cancelled
Dear all,
This morning we have increasing winds at the lower leves and by sure by time of landing.
Calm winds in the enclosed valleys but with 15 kts at about 300ft, and up to 25-30kts at higher grounds and over the tops of the hills with a lot of windshear we have no conditions to let you fly in safe and stabil circumstances.
Taken all this into account, we have decided to cancel this morning flight.
Congrats to the winners!
Congrats to all of you - competitors, officials and crew for an awesome few days of comp flying.
See you at the award ceremony.
Regards,
Jonas Maes

Instructional video - Balloonlive App
Dear pilots,
Andrew Robertson has made a very clear instructional video on how the BalloonLive App works.
For those who are not - or less - experienced with BLA here, I advise you to take a look at this one.
You can find the video via this link: https://youtu.be/vdNrcm0B2Fo

Flight Report Forms - Digital via Watchmefly.net
Dear pilots,
We will use the digital FRF during this competition.
The advantage of this is that the scorers will receive your FRF sooner, and therefore results can be calculated and published faster.
For those who are not familiar yet with this digital FRF, please take some time to look how everything works.
You can find an instruction video on https://watchmefly.net/blog/20210408-new-features.php or check the tutorial videos on https://watchmefly.net/blog/20210408-new-features.php

Balloon Live App and Sensor - Test recording and operation recommendations
Dear competitors,
To best prepare for any technology hiccups to be solved before the start of the event, I would like to ask you to carefully read and follow these 3 important steps:
Check:
Please check the following:
-The latest version of Balloon Live App is installed (V2035)
-The Balloon Live Sensor has the latest firmware version (V4.19)
For further information and latest updates, please visit https://balloonlive.org
Test and Train:
To test the Balloon Live App with BLS connected, you will have to log in with your Watchmefly-account. Then select the Belgian Balloon Trophy 2024 - event to load the competition and flight data.
One practice flight has been defined and is ready to be used for testing. To test that everything is running smoothly, start at least one flight recording and let the app record for a minimum of 5-10 minutes (the longer, the better). While recording this flight, please do also test dropping markers and declaring goals as mentioned in this TDS. Watch especially for a good reactivity of the system. May be you can also include a waiting time between selection of the marker/goal number and the final drop. This creates a realistic situation and will help eliminate potential problems. Don' t hesitate to repeat the recording. You can record multiple practice flights.
Once you stopped the flight, you can find your flight data on Watchmefly.net for download.
Until the General Briefing, we will check if all pilots have done such a test-recording.
Get ready:
Finally, please download and read the new 'BLA and BLS Operations Recommendations', available for download on https://balloonlive.org/downloads/
If you have any problem, please check the FAQ on Balloonlive.org, or ultimately contact support@balloonlive.org
Kind regards,
Jonas Maes
