40 + 3 (medal holders) + 1 (additional organizer "wild card") = 44
(average number of competitors at previous Women’s World Championships = 35.5)
First Round:
NACs may nominate 2 competitors. If the first-round nominations exceed 75% (30) of the total number of competitors the Organizer is willing to accept (40; not including medal holders or additional Organizer "wild card"), then the first round will be reduced to 1 per NAC and the second nominations will be considered in the second round.
Second Round:
NACs may nominate 3 competitors determined by each NACs ranking position in the 5th FAI Women’s World Championship
*Average number of NACs at previous Women’s World Championships = 15.75 (16-19-15-13); average number of NACs at previous Women’s World Championship with only 1 nomination = 6.75 (9-9-5-4)*
(average number of competitors at previous Women’s World Championships = 35.5)
First Round:

$500 USD refunded at onsite registration to competitors of North American NACs

Other Entry Fee Details:
Entry fees will be paid to the Balloon Federation of America (BFA). Eligible refunds will be paid less the 3.99% credit card processing fees. Eligible domestic refunds will be paid by check. Eligible international refunds will be paid by PayPal.
